What’s the most catastrophic mistake made by an
intern at a company
Big Bird
An anonymous writer was the chief executive officer of a
company, which was a nonprofit organization that shared free internet and
hosted non-profit sites in metro areas.
Interestingly, nearby PBS station served as a backbone of our firm. They
were responsible for offering network services and space for servers. He got
keys for server rooms.
One day afternoon, he had to do something with their servers.
Interestingly, his son also accompanied him. While he son was entering the
room, his wanted to see the Big Bird. He tried to explain to him… but his son
was adamant in wanting to see it. So, they look around to find it but the
building was unusually empty.
So, they went to the server room and then started working. While he was working, he didn't pay attention to his son. Suddenly, he realized that a horrible noise came from the server fan. His son had started the server and turned down everything. It was really a shock for him as it would take time to reconnect and back up things. He was trying to contact the admin. Meanwhile, he shouted at his son. He just told that he had tried to save the electricity.
Laziness
I once worked with an intern who always lazy and disrespectful.
She was famous for spending most of the time chatting, shopping during work
hours, going out for long meals etc. she was quite disrespectful too. When she was scrolling through FB, I asked
her a doubt. I got no response from her.
Being an intern, she would have considered it.
Poor
Communication
There was a good intern at my company. He left a few days earlier than the
partnership was about to end. They sent
a mail and informed me about the delay. However, they didn’t inform me about
the schedule. I didn’t know whether he would be coming or not. I sent a few
emails but all were ignored. It was difficult to contact them.
WRONG PACKAGE
Michael Shipley was an intern for a company, which was
responsible for maintaining a healthy relationship with US Courier Company.
People craft partnership proposals in the company. Micheal Shipley was
responsible for delivering such proposals. If the firm doesn't get business, he
challenges UPS. It is much like walking into an interview and submitting your
resume in the shopping bag.
